If you’ve reached the final frame of Night Patrol, you’re likely still cleaning the metaphorical splatter off your screen. The finale shifts from a cop thriller into a full-scale siege at the Colonial Courts housing project, where the “Night Patrol” unit attempts a systematic purge.
The Climax: Xavier’s Choice
The heart of the ending lies in the “Harrowing Crossroads” for Xavier (Jermaine Fowler). Throughout the film, he is torn between the “police brotherhood” and his actual family. In the final showdown, Xavier must choose between his partner Ethan (Justin Long)—who has been forcibly turned and is fighting his new bloodlust—and his brother Wazi (RJ Cyler).
The intervention of Ayanda (Nicki Micheaux) and her use of Zulu mysticism provides the community’s only real defense against the sun-resistant vampires. The film concludes on a cliffhanger, leaving the fate of the broader institutional vampire network unknown, while the Colonial Courts survivors stand amidst the wreckage of a burned-out precinct.

Will there be a 2 Night 2 Patrol?
Director Ryan Prows has been vocal about his desire to expand this universe. While he joked about the Fast & Furious style title, the ending was intentionally left open to explore how other cities deal with their own “monsters” in uniform.
- The Sequel Hook: With “Sarge” (Dermot Mulroney) and the shadowy leadership still in play, a sequel would likely move from the streets of LA to a more national scale.
- Release Status: As of January 2026, a sequel hasn’t been greenlit, but Prows noted that “if the audience bites, we’re ready to strike back.”
