The carnage of the Zen’in Clan massacre is behind us, but for Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro, the real gamble is just beginning. After the emotional and brutal “Perfect Preparation” arc, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is shifting gears into the gritty underworld of sorcery.
Episode 5, titled “Fever” (Netsu), is set to introduce one of the most anticipated characters in the entire series: the suspended third-year, Kinji Hakari.

What to Expect in Episode 5: The “Fever” Begins
The episode moves the spotlight away from Maki’s tragedy and onto the recruitment mission. To have a chance at surviving Kenjaku’s Culling Game, Yuji and Megumi need heavy hitters. That leads them to an illegal underground fight club.
1. The Debut of Kinji Hakari
Even Satoru Gojo noted that Hakari’s potential rivals his own. We will finally see the man who runs a gambling ring for sorcerers. Unlike the traditionalist Zen’in clan, Hakari operates on “Passion” and “Fever”—a high-stakes philosophy that changes how we view cursed energy.
2. Enter Kirara Hoshi
Alongside Hakari, we meet Kirara Hoshi, another mysterious third-year. Fans should keep a close eye on Kirara’s interactions; her Cursed Technique is one of the most unique “logic-puzzle” powers MAPPA has ever had to animate.
3. Yuji’s Underground Fight
To get an audience with Hakari, Yuji must step into the ring. This won’t be a typical Jujutsu battle. Expect high-octane hand-to-hand combat as Yuji tries to impress a man who only cares about the “heat” of a fight.
Why This Episode Is a Major Turning Point
Episode 5 marks the official bridge between the Perfect Preparation Arc and the Culling Game Arc. While the previous episodes were about settling old blood feuds, “Fever” is about building the team that will eventually face Sukuna and Kenjaku.
The tone is shifting from dark tragedy to high-stakes adrenaline, setting the pace for the rest of the winter 2026 season.
