Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 Episode 3 Netflix Release Date

If you are waiting to catch the third installment of Frieren’s latest journey on Netflix, the timing is a “tale of two regions.” While some fans are already watching, others are facing a significantly longer wait.

For Netflix Asia Subscribers (Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong)

In select Asian territories where Netflix has secured simulcast rights, the release schedule follows the Japanese broadcast very closely.

    • Release Date: Friday, January 30, 2026
    • Release Time: Typically arrives shortly after the 11:00 PM JST broadcast in Japan.

For these regions, Netflix is acting as a “simulcast” partner, meaning you get new episodes every Friday alongside the rest of the world.

For Netflix Global Subscribers (USA, UK, Canada, India)

If you are outside of the select Asian regions mentioned above, the situation is a bit more disappointing. Netflix Global does not currently have the simulcast rights for Season 2.

As with Season 1, Netflix is expected to follow its “batch release” model for international markets. This means they will likely wait until the entire 10-episode season has finished airing on Japanese television before adding it to Western libraries.

    • Estimated Release Date: Late 2026
    • Why the delay? Licensing agreements in the West currently favor Crunchyroll for “day-and-date” releases. Netflix usually acquires these titles for global distribution about 6 to 12 months after the initial airing.

Where to Watch Episode 3 Right Now?

If you can’t wait until later this year, the only way to watch Frieren Episode 3 on its premiere date of January 30, 2026, is via Crunchyroll. They hold the exclusive international streaming rights for Season 2 in the following regions:

    • North America
    • Central & South America
    • Europe & Africa
    • Oceania & The Middle East
    • CIS & India

    Season 2: The Upcoming Schedule

Since Season 2 is only confirmed for 10 episodes, every Friday is precious. Here is the upcoming roadmap for the rest of the month:

EpisodeTitleRelease Date (Global Crunchyroll / Asia Netflix)
    Episode 1“Shall We Go, Then?”January 16, 2026 (Live Now)
    Episode 2“The Hero of the South”January 23, 2026
    Episode 3TBAJanuary 30, 2026
